bobble ----The bobble here is shown how to knit from 5 sts, mine is smaller (of 3sts) but knitted the same way and 1 turn less. So from 1 st I make two more sts. Then turn your knitwork, purl 3 sts on WS, turn knitwork and come back to 1 st the way they show on this video. This little cardi is knitted in one piece from top to bottom. I have knitted only 3 button holes in row 5, row 17 and 29 and have done 16 inc total in every second row.
Cast ON 52 sts
set up with markers(inc) 10(front1) - 6 (sleeve)- 20 (back)- 6 (sleeve), 10 (front2)
set up with markers(inc) 10(front1) - 6 (sleeve)- 20 (back)- 6 (sleeve), 10 (front2)
Purl all for 3 rows and then start the whole thing with the pattern (cable and bobble) R1CB1.
First row is special because I also added at the beginning and in the end extra 4 sts (you will purl always those 4 sts in every row on the WS & RS) so now your set up looks different
set up and raglan shaping : 4-10-6-20-6-10-4
I need to say that when you start knitting with the pattern of cable & bobble, so you purl first 4 sts and knit R1cbF1 (F1=FRONT1), and when you knit second front F2 of the cardigan you will knit this like in the mirror so starting with p1, then k9 and last sts: p4 Maybe it sounds complicated but when you look on the photo you will know straight away! and that is why i have written front1 and front2.
Increase every second row (I have started in r1, r3, r5 etc 16 times in total) where markers are by kfab which means knit front and back.

INC R1 (RS): p4, M, R1cbFront1, *(k to 1 st before M, kfab, slM, Kfab)*repeat 3 more times until you are in the second front, R1cbFront2, p4
R2: p4, R2cbF1, purl all until second front and then remember R2cbF2, p4
R2: p4, R2cbF1, purl all until second front and then remember R2cbF2, p4
So I have knitted 8 Rows of the pattern cable and bobble for 4 times in total, until i got 32 rounds and then I have separeted sleeves and body. I have knitted the body without increases for another 32 rounds and following the pattern of cable and bobble until the end. I have to tell you that last 3 rounds I have purled and bind off knitwise.
2 sleeves i have knitted for 28 rounds, and then last 3 rounds purled and BO knitwise.
I hope it is clear, maybe it looks complicated the way i explain, but i hope it is not...

My notes for the beginners :
INC Rcb1: 1, 9, 17, 25,
RCB2: 2, 10, 18, 26,
INC Rcb3: 3, 11, 19, 27,
Rcb4: 4, 12, 20, 28,
INC Rcb5: 5, 13, 21, 29,
Rcb6: 6, 14, 22, 30,
INC Rcb7: 7, 15, 23, 31,
Rcb8: 8, 16, 24, 32.
INC Rcb1: 1, 9, 17, 25,
RCB2: 2, 10, 18, 26,
INC Rcb3: 3, 11, 19, 27,
Rcb4: 4, 12, 20, 28,
INC Rcb5: 5, 13, 21, 29,
Rcb6: 6, 14, 22, 30,
INC Rcb7: 7, 15, 23, 31,
Rcb8: 8, 16, 24, 32.
Now Separate sleeves and body.
row1, you have to add 4 extra sts at the beginning and in the end of your work, you will always purl them on RS and WS , and this where you make button holes
row 5, 17, 29 = button holes
row 5, 17, 29 = button holes
I did not mention how to knit sleeves just because everyone has favourited method, lots of you like to knit to marker and place all sleeve sts between markers on hold and then cast on 2 or 4 sts underarm using the backward loop method. When you start knitting them after finished body usually you do on dpn's or circ (for magic loop method). It's up to you. I haven't worked any decrease.
I will add more details if anyone has some questions. Happy knitting.
